There's no one FPV for everything. We choose the unit by the shot and by where the piece will live: cinema RAW for TV and theatrical release, agile 4K for social media and very fast shots.
6K RAW R3D. For film, commercials delivered to television and anything that needs serious grading.
Lighter and more agile, Blackmagic RAW or ProRes. When the shot calls for agility and the delivery is 4K.
The fastest in the fleet, with a 4K camera. High-speed tracking shots and pieces for social media.
With propeller guards for interiors, tight spaces and sequence shots near people with a safety plan.
Radios, a spotter and calibration passes without recording before we shoot. Never over people in the flight path.
On most shoots the FPV covers the hero shot and the Inspire 3 covers the rest; they come as aerial-unit packages.
The FPV is planned shot by shot. The more specific the reference, the fewer passes are needed.
Storyboard, reference video or description: what the viewer needs to feel and where the piece will be seen.
Komodo, Blackmagic, 5″ or cinewhoop depending on speed, space and delivery.
Flight path, obstacles, communications and a calibration pass before the first take.
Batteries lasting three to five minutes, short repeated passes; RAW or ProRes footage with verified copies.
Automotive, action sports, landscape and film unit work, shot by our crew with the Inspire 3 and FPV. With every credential needed to fly on a professional set:
By the day, with pilot and assistant, batteries and permits. The cinelifter with RED Komodo sits in the same bracket as the Inspire 3; the Blackmagic and the lighter FPVs are below that. The 2026 rate card comes with the quote.
No. The cinema FPV is hand-flown and the permits and insurance are tied to the registered operator; always with our pilot and assistant.
Between three and six, plus one calibration pass without recording. The batteries last three to five minutes and are swapped between takes.
Indoors with the 3″ cinewhoop with prop guards and a safety plan; near actors with minimum distances, rehearsals and radios. Over the public only with specific authorisation.
R3D 6K from the Komodo, Blackmagic RAW or ProRes from the 4K G2, and 4K from the 5″ FPV and the cinewhoop, with copies verified by the DIT.
